I was born in Larned, Kansas, and grew up in the towns of Rozel and Burdett, Kansas.

Growing up on a farm and ranch in an area my family settled in the late 1800’s I learned the importance of family and faith. Being in church all my life I knew about God but didn’t know God. God grabbed ahold of my life in high school and things forever changed.

I graduated from high school and went to Colby College in Colby, Kansas, running cross country and track there while also getting my A.A. degree. I worked in radio as a morning DJ and used that to help pay my way through college.

I then went to Kansas State University. While there, God called me into ministry. I worked for Youth for Christ for two years and worked at Kanakuk Kamps during the summers. I graduated in 1992 with a B.S. degree.

In February of 1993 I was offered a job as youth pastor at Trinity Baptist Church. I then met Sherri and we were married at Trinity in January of 1995. In June 1996 our first daughter, Gabby, was born. Our second daughter, Mollie, was born in May of 1998, followed by the birth of our son, Jacob, in August 2001.

I began coaching Wamego youth beginning with high school track in 1995, high school cross country in 1997, and middle school basketball in 1998.

I became the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Chaplain in 2000 and an on-call Chaplain at Mercy Health Center in 2009.

Sherri and I thoroughly enjoy serving here at Trinity.
